For clubs, academies, federations, and governing bodies.

Beyond the Game.

Every sport organisation has a values statement. Origins of Play asks the young leaders in your programmes to engage with those values, historically, globally, and personally.

WHOLE-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

Performance is only one dimension of who an athlete is.

The best academies and development pathways already know this. They invest in nutrition, sports psychology, and leadership. What Origins of Play adds is something different. A grounding.

Not a resilience workshop. Not a leadership framework. A journey through the ancestral roots of the sport your young leaders are dedicating themselves to - one that reveals why they were drawn to it in the first place, and what they want to do with that commitment beyond the pitch, the court, or the track.

Young athletes aged 15 to 17 are at a critical intersection. Identity formation and competitive development are happening simultaneously. Origins of Play gives them a foundation that performance training alone cannot provide - and that stays with them long after the final whistle.

The origins of play are not history. They are the story of why sport still matters today, and why young athletes are part of that story.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

A meaningful expression of your social responsibility commitment

The Origins of Play learning journey moves from the role of sport in achieving international development ambitions, then through how those very ambitions translate into the commitments of professional sport. From the International Olympic Committee to surf therapy in Cape Town.

Young leaders follow the organisations already doing sport for social good. Then they apply that knowledge in generative reflection on their own communities. The global made local. The local made meaningful.

Origins of Play sits naturally alongside existing CSR and community outreach programmes.

For clubs and federations working on their community engagement obligations, Origins of Play is a structured, evidence-based contribution. Young leaders come to understand why their sport has a responsibility to its community, and they take a first step toward honouring it.

As a low-lift enrichment tool, it does not replace what is already happening. It gives young leaders the context to understand it - and the language to articulate it personally, for their community, and for the world they are inheriting.

Module 5 produces documented, individual evidence of community engagement and reflection - structured output that can sit directly within existing social responsibility reporting frameworks.

WHO IS IT FOR IN SPORT

Built for every level of sport.

Origins of Play was designed to work across the full breadth of sport - from national governing bodies to community clubs, from elite academies to grassroots programmes. The context changes. The commitment to young leaders does not.
NATIONAL GOVERNING BODIES

Organisations with a mandate to develop not just athletes but citizens. Origins of Play provides a structured, evidence-based way to deliver on that mandate - at scale, with minimal administrative burden.

CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS

Institutions with a values statement and a responsibility to young members that goes beyond results. Origins of Play makes those values tangible - something young leaders can engage with, not just read about.

ACADEMIES AND TALENT PATHWAYS

Young athletes aged at the critical intersection of identity formation and competitive development. Origins of Play gives them a grounding that performance training alone cannot provide.

COMMUNITY PROGRAMMES

Organisations already using sport as a tool for social change who want to give young participants a deeper understanding of why the work they are part of matters.

HOW IT WORKS FOR SPORT ORGANISATIONS

No dedicated session time, no per-player administration.

Sport teams enrol as a cohort. Young leaders begin at their own pace, independently of training and competition schedules. You stay informed without managing anyone individually.

  • A group code is issued on purchase and shared with participants
  • Young leaders sign up at their own pace -  Wanderer (6 weeks), Explorer (4 weeks), or Pathfinder (2 weeks)
  • The coordinator dashboard shows completion progress across the cohort
  • Playbook submissions are visible for review when players indicate readiness
  • No dedicated session time required -  the programme runs alongside existing commitments

For federations and governing bodies working across multiple clubs or regions, institutional pricing and multi-cohort arrangements are available on enquiry.

Playing the Champions League is my dream, but I also want to have an impact on my generation off the pitch. So this was important.

SAFEGUARDING AND DATA PROTECTION

Answers before you need to ask.

We understand that safeguarding and data protection are governance obligations for sport organisations - not a checkbox. For organisations working with young athletes, these carry legal weight, parental trust, and reputational consequence. Origins of Play was designed with those realities in mind.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

We understand this involves more than one conversation.

If you need a programme overview to share internally, a call with someone who can speak to the content, or a document that helps make the case to your team - we can provide any of those things. We are used to working alongside governance structures.
