WHY THIS PROGRAMME EXISTS
Turning passion for sport into grounding and purpose.
Origins of Play does not teach sport. It uses sport as a lens - through which young leaders come to understand themselves, their communities, and the world they are inheriting.
The programme is grounded in the ancestral roots of play. Not as history. As living knowledge. The question at its heart is not simply what sport can do, but what sport has always known - and what this generation is now invited to remember. That knowledge is in ancestral intelligence. And sport, understood at its roots, is one of the most powerful access points to it available to a young person today.
Designed for an Age of Polycrisis
The programme begins where young leaders already are: in a world that is genuinely complicated. It does not sidestep that. It starts there.
Curriculum-Aligned and Portfolio-Ready
Maps directly to IB CAS, Round Square, and Duke of Edinburgh frameworks. Every reflection is captured in a personal Playbook, exportable as a PDF.
Built for Work Across Silos
It does not matter which sport, at what level, or where in the world. One programme. Three pathways in.
Low-Lift Enrichment Tool
Young leaders self-direct. You stay informed. A coordinator dashboard gives full visibility on cohort progress, with a single CSV export for reporting.
In the same moment that artificial intelligence is reshaping what it means to know, ancestral intelligence is recovering what it has always meant to belong. Origins of Play stands at that intersection.
THE LEARNING JOURNEY
Six Modules. One Origins Story.
The journey moves from the outside in. It begins with the world as it is, travels back to the origins of play, builds through global frameworks and real-world evidence, and ends with the learner articulating their own origin story. Fourteen lessons. Built to be reflected on, not rushed through.

Origin Story

THREE WAYS TO TRAVEL
The pace sets the rhythm. Not a deadline.
Learners choose their pace at the start and can change it at any point. Pace shapes notification frequency and the suggested weekly rhythm. It does not gate content or restrict progress. The programme is designed to be reflected on, not rushed through.
THE WANDERER
6 Weeks
Space to sit with each idea, return to reflections, and let the learning settle before moving on. Suited to learners integrating Origins of Play alongside a busy term.
THE EXPLORER
4 Weeks
A steady, purposeful pace with built-in reflection time between lessons. The most common path for school and club cohorts working through the experience together.

WHAT YOUNG LEADERS WALK AWAY WITH
Not Just Knowledge. Transformation.
By the end of Origins of Play, a young leader does not simply know more about sport. They have the history, the language, the frameworks, and the story to articulate their passion as purpose.
ENROL A GROUP01 A Foundational Understanding of the Role of Sport in Society
From the ancestral origins of play to the evolving role of sport in society, learners build a grounded understanding of the ideas and frameworks shaping sport for change today and why they matter in an increasingly interconnected world.
02 The Language to Articulate Passion in the context of Personal & Community Development.
Learners develop the confidence and language to articulate why sport matters - as a vehicle for well-being, belonging, leadership, and positive change. In doing so, they begin to connect their own experiences of play with the needs of their communities and the future they hope to help shape.
03 Practical Application of Real-World Community Impact Through Sport
Through guided analysis and reflection, learners examine how values, human needs, and broader social challenges intersect in practice - strengthening their ability to connect local realities with global perspectives and purposeful action.
04 A Values-Grounded Sense of Their Own Leadership
Learners explore the values, experiences, and aspirations that shape who they are becoming. Drawing together insights from across the journey, they reflect through the head, heart, hands, and spirit of leadership to understand how they think, feel, relate, and act in the world.
05 A Meaningful Record of Learning, Growth, and Purpose
A dedicated space for ongoing reflection, insights, and milestones in a reflections playbook. Easily exportable as a PDF to support IB CAS, Round Square, and Duke of Edinburgh portfolios.
06 A Certificate of Completion
The journey concludes with the sharing of an Origin Story, marking a meaningful milestone. A Certificate of Completion is then awarded by One All, a UK-registered Community Interest Company (CIC).

Words from those who have lived our journey.
These words are from young leaders who experienced our programmes before Origins of Play was available as an app. The methodology is unchanged. Their words continue to inspire us.
I used to think that the 11-a-side was so big when we got to play on it. After this experience, I feel I am part of something much much bigger.
- Sam, Guam
Playing the Champions League is my dream, but I also want to have an impact on my generation off the pitch. So this was important.
- Abdulrahman, Bahrain
Everything takes time, effort and a lot of love. It taught me to be bolder, kinder, and smarter for myself and the world our generation is building.
- Matilda, France
