WHY NOW?
The world is not broken, it is mid-repair.
Young people are living in a time many refer to as an Age of Polycrisis. And they feel it - in their newsfeeds, in their communities, in the gap between the future they envision and the one they are inheriting.
At the same time, extraordinary work is being done by governments, schools, NGOs, and professional organisations around the world who are reimagining what sport can do to address this gap.
Origins of play invites young people themselves into that conversation. To give them the history, the language, and the framework. To help them see their own passion for sport as a tool to tackle uncertainty. Because a return to the timeless principles of unity, balance and, environmental stewardship - principles that today continue to underpin the role and responsibility of sport as a microcosm of society is the most grounding and powerful offering to a generation navigating uncertainty.
Sport began as a way to learn and impart life lessons, resolve conflict, to prepare for adulthood, and as a form of belonging - to each other, to place, to something larger.

- The ability to identify and articulate the social value of sport in their own community - researched, named, and profiled.
- A clearer sense of their own values as a leader - shaped through sport, and expressed in their own words.
- A Reflections Playbook - a complete record of their thinking throughout the journey, ready to submit as portfolio evidence for IB CAS, RoundSquare, and Duke of Edinburgh.

Levels of Sport
Origins of Play was created by One All CIC, a UK-based social enterprise working at the intersection of education, sport, and development.
Our work began in 2017 as Aurora for Training and Development, a youth development organisation based in Jordan. Over nearly a decade, our work has taken us across 60+ countries and into work with NGOs, international schools, and sport organisations at every level.
Origins of Play is a culmination of our learning so far and a contribution to the emerging space of sport for social change.
Everything takes time, effort and a lot of love. The experience taught me to be bolder, kinder, and smarter for myself and the world our generation is building.
